Suitable for use in Dental and Veterinary clinics, these units offer sterilization for instruments and glassware with the added benefit of hot air drying. This type of autoclave is also sometimes referred to as a ‘Class S autoclave’ or ‘Type S autoclave’.

Instruments for sterilization could include wrapped and unwrapped metal surgical instruments, unwrapped glassware and pouched hand tools.

It is recommended only medical accessories such as sterilization wraps, pouches, chemical indicators, and biological indicators are used with this autoclave. It is not recommended for fluid or discard loads.

Astell’s Closed Door Drying benchtop autoclave range is available in three sizes (33, 43 & 63 litres) and is totally self-contained. These units require no plumbing, and only a standard single phase power supply. They are compliant with BS EN 13060:2014; ISO 9001:2015;
PED 2014/68/EU; ANSI/AAMI ST55:2010 standard; and FDA 510(k) approved.

This range of ‘vacuum-less drying’ steam sterilizers include Astell’s ‘Ecofill’ water management system and are one of the most energy efficient autoclaves available. The pressure vessel design ensures the absolute minimum amount of water is used during a sterilization cycle, which not only means comparably low power consumption, but also very quick heating and cooling.
